We had such a fun day yesterday. Room 6 where Wild Things at our end of the year wearable arts expo.

We had been learning about sustainability. Our costumes were made from things that we could reuse, or recycle.

Zerowaste

We have been learning about what  rubbish is and what things we can reuse or recycle. Can you tell me some of the games that Nicole made out things she has reused?

Magical Musicians.

We had a great time during music on Tuesday. Mrs Death taught us a really cool song that we can play our instruments too. Can you remember what the song was called? Why did we have to have tape on the bottom of our drum bucket? Can you remember what instrument Mrs Death plays in her band?

Deilightful Descriptions.

We are learning how to write descriptions.
Here are some of our descriptions about a moment in time - Waking up in the morning.

In the Morning.
I want to stay here forever! I hear my sister walk down the hallway. Then my dog comes running down the hall and jumps on my bed. It really hurts! I hear the geese honking above my house it is really loud. I can hear the wind howling outside my window. My bed is warm and snuggly and sometimes it's hot. I see grey puffy clouds and the trees are tilting to the left because the wind is so strong.

I can hear my mum shouting, "get out of bed Georgia". I can see the sunshine sneak into my bedroom through my bedroom window. I can feel my fluffy cuddly pillow and also I can feel my very, very, very warm snuggly teddy toys.

We have a new writing centre set up in our classroom. We are really excited about the awesome writing we can do. Can you name some of the cool things that we can do at writing time?

We are learning to write a compound sentence.

A compound sentence must have two or more sentences.

It is joined by a hook (conjunction)

M & M Maths

Today in Room 6 we have be learning how to gather data and show our findings. We all had a small packet of M & M's. Our job was to find out what coloured M & M was there the most of in each packet. We used a tally chart to record the number of different coloured M & M's that were in a packet.

Buddy Time.

We really enjoy spending time with our Room 12 buddies. They are really good at buddy testing us on our spelling. It is cool when we do buddy reading too because they have some great books that they share with us.
